{"id":11590,"date":"2015-06-30T14:29:54","date_gmt":"2015-06-30T14:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/texasartandsoul.website\/migration\/?p=11590"},"modified":"2015-06-30T14:29:54","modified_gmt":"2015-06-30T14:29:54","slug":"inner-critic-shut-your-trap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/texasartandsoul.website\/migration\/inner-critic-shut-your-trap\/","title":{"rendered":"Inner Critic &#8211; SHUT YOUR TRAP!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pvw.ril.mybluehost.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/images-2.jpeg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11591\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pvw.ril.mybluehost.me\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/images-2.jpeg?resize=240%2C210&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"images-2\" width=\"240\" height=\"210\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><b>How do you stop the inner critic? \u00a0 How do you stop the negative self talk? \u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We all have this voice inside that basically determines our situation or outcome. \u00a0 Sometimes it\u2019s negative and sometimes it can be positive.<\/p>\n<p>This past weekend I had an event and the inner critic REALLY showed it\u2019s ugly head! \u00a0 The location was about an hour away and I left my house 1.5 hours ahead of time to make sure I arrived in plenty of time to set up for the painting party.<\/p>\n<p>My GPS directed me to a different location and then I began to panic! \u00a0 I spent the next 2 hours going up and down the interstate trying to find the location. \u00a0 I was frazzled, embarrassed, upset, scared that the customer was going to be furious (which they should be) and totally defeated.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><b>I felt totally lost!\u00a0 \u00a0 Emotionally and physically!\u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>After the customer had to come get me from the gas station because I was SO LOST I did the party and headed home. \u00a0 The party was great!\u00a0 The kids were so much fun and we had a great time, but I just couldn\u2019t shake the feeling I was having.<\/p>\n<p>Why was I so mad at myself? \u00a0 Why was I so disappointed in myself?\u00a0 \u00a0 That night and the day after I had 2 more parties all which went well and no hiccups.<\/p>\n<p>As I reflected over this past weekend I had to take a moment and let myself off the hook. \u00a0 I\u2019m human\u2026. I will make mistakes and the inner critic can be a mean force if you let it!<\/p>\n<p>Give yourself a break sometimes. \u00a0 We have to remember that everyone\u2019s world revolves around them. \u00a0 Sometimes that huge hiccup to you, was just a small moment in the other person\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">So, I let myself understand that I\u2019m going to make mistakes sometimes and it\u2019s okay.\u00a0<\/span> \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I get this a lot when I\u2019m creating a new artwork. \u00a0 It used to be really bad, but as I practice art every day I learn how to tell that voice to shut it\u2019s trap!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><b>So, how do you stop the inner critic? <\/b>\u00a0<\/span> \u00a0 Here\u2019s a few things that I did this weekend to help me move past a situation that was bringing me down.<\/p>\n<p>Recognize your emotion or what you are thinking about that is causing you stress.<\/p>\n<p>Keep moving forward! \u00a0 The inner critic likes to stop something great from happening so understand that it\u2019s a sign that good is on the horizon!<\/p>\n<p>Be understanding to yourself like you would to a friend!\u00a0 \u00a0 I think sometimes we are WAY harder on ourselves than we are on our friends. \u00a0 So, when this happens think of how you would show compassion to a friend and then try to treat yourself with that same compassion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How do you stop the inner critic? \u00a0 How do you stop the negative self talk? \u00a0 \u00a0 We all have this voice inside that basically determines our situation or outcome. \u00a0 Sometimes it\u2019s negative and sometimes it can be positive.
