Now, I know what your thinking\u2026 she uses Facebook all the time. \u00a0 I do\u2026. and I have a love \/ hate relationship with it.<\/p>\n

Last year I discovered that I have adult ADHD. \u00a0 My husband looked at me strange and said \u201cyou are just now discovering this\u201d.\u00a0 \u00a0 Apparently he knew it all along, but didn\u2019t want to label me.\u00a0 \u00a0 Maybe following the trail I leave around the house was just one indication.<\/p>\n

Most of my days go like this: <\/b>\u00a0 I get up and do the normal brush your teeth and get ready bit, but immediately get side tracked. \u00a0 \u201cOh, I should start the dishwasher\u201d and then as I start to load the dishwasher I turn on the griddle to cook my daughter french toast.\u00a0 After letting the dog out I throw in laundry and then start to make a list of groceries for the day. \u00a0 Then my mind wanders to an art project I need to complete! \u00a0 As I jot that down on my white board in the art office I realize that paint needs to be ordered and Pixie\u2019s school uniforms still don\u2019t have monograms so I make a little note of that and then check my Paypal to see if I should order today.\u00a0 \u00a0 With a quick yell to wake up my daughter I then realize the dog is jumping on the door to get in and the house is about to burn down because I forgot about the french toast.<\/p>\n

Wait\u2026 wasn\u2019t I supposed to load the dishwasher!?!?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

When Facebook is thrown in to the mix it can really get me off track! \u00a0 Facebook can start my mind on a whole new track that my adult ADHD cannot always handle.\u00a0 \u00a0 From keeping up with all my old friends to discovering new ones my brain sometimes can\u2019t take all the connections and it starts to shut down! \u00a0 It can really stifle my creativity!<\/p>\n

This is why I love painting!\u00a0 \u00a0 It\u2019s the place that I can let my mind wonder and create!\u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

I feel at peace with a brush and canvas and know that for that hour or more I will be calm and content.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

So, let\u2019s take a day off from Facebook!\u00a0 \u00a0 Let\u2019s take a break from social media\u2026 not forever\u2026 but just for a day. \u00a0 Try it and see if you gain some clarity on other things in your life that you may have time for.<\/p>\n
