I had a very strange experience this summer with my first tankini.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Let&#8217;s start with why I bought one.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>It all started last summer. My 9 year old daughter tried to cover me up as I confidently walked in my bikini to the pool. She said \u201cMOM\u2026 WHAT ARE YOU WEARING!?\u201d Quickly my confidence level went from a 10 to a 1 as I asked \u201cWhy, what\u2019s wrong?\u201d She immediately said you are showing way too much!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I\u2019ve been wearing bikini\u2019s my entire life! I didn\u2019t even realize there were other types of swimsuits until my late twenties! So hearing this in my thirties really stopped me in my tracks. I went through the several weeks of denying that I needed to be in a tankini\u2026 Sure, I\u2019ve gained a little weight, but not a ton. I know that everything isn\u2019t as tight as it used to be, but I still felt \u201cokay\u201d enough to wear one.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So, after my daughter burst my bubble I decided I would start the summer in my new \u201cmommy\u201d swimsuit THE TANKINI!&nbsp;<em><strong>Dun\u2026dun\u2026.DUNNNNNN!!!!<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I take my daughter &amp; husband with me to go pick it out. I found the one! The swimsuit that will change my life! Well, at least cover up my stomach.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As we grab the swimsuit and show my husband, my daughter decides to tell him how some of the swim suits didn\u2019t work out and how my fat was hanging out of all sides! I quickly tell her&nbsp;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>\u201cWhat happens in the dressing room, STAYS IN THE DRESSING ROOM!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We pay the cashier and my heart breaks a little on the inside.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So, this summer I wore my tankini. I covered my belly.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I decided at the end of August to wear my bikini from last year to try and get a little sun on my belly. When I came out to swim my daughter excitedly says <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cMOM, YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL, LIKE A MODEL!\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>My anger starts to bubble, but I patiently say \u201cI thought you said I need to cover up\u2026. this is why I bought a tankini. \u201c She says \u201cno mom, just when we are swimming at the community pool\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>REALLY!!!! WE SWIM AT GRANDMA\u2019S HOUSE!\u200b<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So, the tankini is history!
