I almost threw up and also had to take an\u00a0anxiety pill. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n


For years I’ve struggled with anxiety. \u00a0Running a Paint Party business and being a mom and wife has been a juggling act. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Last month I was talking to my\u00a0friend about my schedule and she said “I can help you\u00a0organize it!” \u00a0\u00a0The first thing I said was “Do you think I can have Friday’s off!?” \u00a0 She laughed as she quickly reminded me it was my schedule and I could have it however I wanted.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Isn’t it so true… we start teaching paint parties, but forget that we have control over our\u00a0schedule. \u00a0 Yes, we want to book a bazillion parties, but we also want to have time to enjoy life. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we made a plan to have my friend Alyson come over and help me\u00a0organize my days. \u00a0 My homework was to write down everything I needed to do in a week and then we would block out time during each week.\u00a0
\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bTo say it was an easy process for me would be a lie. \u00a0 I almost threw up and had to take an\u00a0anxiety pill. \u00a0 \u00a0She calmly asked me the hours needed for each thing and then wrote out when I would do each item in buckets. \u00a0 She then moved things around so that it\u00a0could allow for a Paint Day and even Friday’s off. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Around 3:30am we called it quits and went to bed knowing that my days would smoother. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n


I was AMAZED!!! \u00a0 \u00a0So… here’s a few tips for making YOUR schedule a little smoother. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Tip #1: \u00a0 Have a REALLY awesome friend who is great at organizing. \u00a0 (Thanks Aly!!!) \u00a0 She was once told “Leave her alone and she’ll organize\u00a0the world and color code it.” \u00a0 AND that is true!!! \u00a0 My new calendar is color coded. \u00a0 But, if you don’t have an awesome friend like I do, just write out all the\u00a0things you do in a week. \u00a0 Then put them in groups of what could go together. \u00a0 When putting things in buckets and time slots you have to stay focused ONLY on that! \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip #2:   SHARPIES!   Must have NEW sharpies!  I mean you don’t have too, but it does make a really difficult process a little more fun!    Oh and use a pencil FIRST.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip #3: \u00a0Stick with it! \u00a0 We stayed up until 3:30am, but have a system now. \u00a0 \u00a0As your schedule grows with paint parties you want to make sure you have time for your family too! \u00a0 Don’t let it consume you\u00a0like I did. \u00a0 \u00a0Make the schedule work for you too! \u00a0
