Transfers are great for beginners or anyone who wants to add some extra pizzaz to their canvas without having to paint it from scratch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many different types and sizes of transfers available, so you&#8217;re sure to find one that fits for your audience or project. They are SO much fun to play with, y&#8217;all! Here&#8217;s a tutorial showing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/texasartandsoul.website\/migration\/how-to-paint-sunflowers\/\">how to paint sunflowers.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step One: Gather Supplies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First, you&#8217;ll need to gather your supplies. For this project, you&#8217;ll need:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>A sunflower transfer<\/strong> &#8211; I got mine from <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/2uLw1Fa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Essential Stencils<\/a>, who I highly recommend! Use discount code TEXASHEIDI to save money.<\/li><li><strong>A canvas or other surface to apply the transfer to<\/strong> &#8211; I chose to do a black painted canvas for mine because I love how that yellow pops! This would also work really well on a wood board too.<\/li><li><strong>Scissors<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Flat tool<\/strong> &#8211; this could be anything that can help you rub down the transfer to keep it in place. If your sunflower is too big for your canvas, you can use scissors to trim it down. I like to leave a little bit of extra room around the sunflower so that I can wrap the transfer paper around it later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step Three: Apply the Transfer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pull off the backing, apply the sunflower transfer to your canvas, and then rub over it with a credit card or other firm object. You&#8217;ll have to apply a pretty good amount of pressure here for the entire transfer to come through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can outline the sunflower first before applying the transfer if you want, but I don&#8217;t bother. I just stick it down wherever I like. I do like having the petals wrap around the sides of the painting to make it more dimensional too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step Four: Peel Away the Transfer Paper<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Now comes the fun part! Slowly peel away the transfer paper. If any pieces of the sunflower come up with the transfer paper, just lay it back down and rub over that area again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can see how beautiful and easy this sunflower transfer is to use! So I decided to add her name to this canvas and gift it to her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I used white paint and a thin paintbrush, and just freehanded her name. And yes, you can paint right over the sunflower transfer!
