Today’s post is a topic that’s near and dear to my heart: how to overcome fear! I love talking about this because I have overcome fear SO many times in my life and business…and it’s been life-changing. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the biggest things I’ve learned from years of teaching how to host paint parties to thousands and thousands of people is that I’m not alone in this. Fear is so common, and it ALWAYS holds us back!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Christian, I know I’m supposed to give my fear over to God, but so many times, my anxiety still takes over. It’s so frustrating! But God is good, and He always helps me to take action, even through my fear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Top Fears People Struggle With<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I recently read an interesting article about the top fears people struggle with. Here’s the list – can you relate to any of these? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. change<\/li>
  2. loneliness<\/li>
  3. failure<\/li>
  4. rejection<\/li>
  5. uncertainty<\/li>
  6. something bad happening<\/li>
  7. getting hurt<\/li>
  8. being judged<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Read This Book to Help You Overcome Fear<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    One of my favorite books to help overcome fear is Big Magic<\/em> by Elizabeth Gilbert<\/a><\/strong>. I have read this book so many times and have earmarked it over and over again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Fear and creativity, Elizabeth, typically go together. She even goes as far as to call them “conjoined twins”. They share vital organs, she says, and we have to be careful how we remove fear because we don’t want to kill creativity in the process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Instead, she advocates for making space for fear in your life. Allow it to live and breathe\u2014it seems counterproductive, but the less we fight it, the less it fights back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    While she allows fear to come along for the ride, she doesn’t allow it to have a voice or decision-making power. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
